III. General information on data processing
1. Legal basis for the processing of personal data
Insofar as we obtain the consent of the data subject for the processing of personal data, Article 6(1)(a) of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) serves as the legal basis.
When processing personal data that is necessary for the performance of a contract to which the data subject is party, Article 6(1)(b) GDPR serves as the legal basis. This also applies to processing operations that are necessary for the implementation of pre-contractual measures.
Insofar as the processing of personal data is necessary to fulfill a legal obligation to which our company is subject, Art. 6 para. 1 lit. c GDPR serves as the legal basis.
If processing is necessary to safeguard a legitimate interest of our company or a third party, and if the interests, fundamental rights, and freedoms of the data subject do not outweigh the former interest, Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR serves as the legal basis for processing.
2. Purpose, processing, and legal basis
We process personal data in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG new) and other applicable data protection regulations.
We do not collect any personal data without your knowledge. You decide whether you want to disclose your data to us for an inquiry, offer, order or service provision. Your personal data will then be used exclusively for the purpose of processing your inquiry and order or for fulfilling the requested service. If you provide us with data within the scope of your consent, you have the right to revoke this consent to the use of your data at any time. Until the time of revocation, the processing of your data remains lawful.
We collect, process, and store your data exclusively for the purpose of fulfilling the contract, i.e., processing your inquiry or order or other correspondence necessary for the purpose of the contract or within the framework of pre-contractual relationships. In particular, the processing of personal data serves to provide deliveries and services in accordance with your orders and wishes.
Furthermore, it serves to fulfill legally prescribed requirements, such as legal obligations in the context of billing and tax assessment of operational services in accordance with commercial and tax legislation or, if applicable, regulatory or other official or judicial requirements, or in the assertion of legal claims and defense in legal disputes.
When collecting data, we will inform you which data is absolutely necessary for processing and executing your order.
Relevant categories of personal data may include, in particular:
- Personal data (first name, last name)
- Contact details (address, email address, telephone number, and similar data)
- Address data (registration data and comparable data)
- Bank details
3. Recipients or disclosure of your data to third parties
Within our company, your data will be passed on to the respective departments/employees who need it to fulfill our obligations or in the context of processing and implementing our legitimate interests.
Your data will only be passed on to external parties in the following cases:
- in connection with the execution of the contract;
- for the purpose of complying with legal requirements under which we are obliged to provide information, report or disclose data, or where the disclosure of data is in the public interest;
- to external service providers who process data on our behalf as processors (e.g., external data centers, support/maintenance of EDP/IT applications, archiving, document processing, controlling, data destruction, purchasing/procurement, customer management, marketing, billing, website management, auditing services, credit institutions, printing companies or data disposal companies, courier services, logistics);
- to safeguard legitimate interests (e.g., lawyers, courts);
- if you have given us your consent to transfer your data to third parties.
Your data will not be resold or marketed in any other way under any circumstances.
4. Duration of storage
We will only store your personal data for as long as is necessary for the purpose for which it was collected or as required by law. If your data is no longer required, we will delete it or, in the case of legally prescribed retention periods, block it. If you legitimately revoke your consent, we will delete or block your data immediately.
However, statutory retention and documentation obligations arise from the German Commercial Code (HGB) and the German Fiscal Code (AO). These amount to up to ten years beyond the end of the business relationship or the pre-contractual legal relationship. Special legal provisions for a longer retention period may be applicable under the German Civil Code (BGB), such as the preservation of evidence within the framework of the statutory limitation provisions, which can range from three to 30 years.
5. Data transfer to third countries
As a matter of principle, your data will not be transferred outside the European Union (EU) or the European Economic Area (EEA) (so-called third countries). Exceptions to this are possible legal requirements (e.g., tax reporting obligations).
6. Use of third-party services

11. Cookies
The MultiTrans AG website uses cookies. Cookies are text files that are stored on a computer system via an Internet browser.
Numerous websites and servers use cookies. Many cookies contain a so-called cookie ID. A cookie ID is a unique identifier for the cookie. It consists of a string of characters that allows websites and servers to be assigned to the specific Internet browser in which the cookie was stored. This enables the websites and servers visited to distinguish the individual browser of the person concerned from other Internet browsers that contain other cookies. A specific Internet browser can be recognized and identified via the unique cookie ID.
By using cookies, MultiTrans AG can provide users of the website with more user-friendly services that would not be possible without cookies.
Cookies enable us to optimize the information and offers on our website for the benefit of the user. As already mentioned, cookies enable us to recognize users of our website. The purpose of this recognition is to make it easier for users to use our website. For example, users of a website that uses cookies do not have to re-enter their login details each time they visit the website, as this is done by the website and the cookie stored on the user's computer system. Another example is the cookie used for a shopping cart in an online shop. The online shop uses a cookie to remember the items that a customer has placed in their virtual shopping cart.
The data subject can prevent the setting of cookies by our website at any time by means of a corresponding setting in the Internet browser used and thus permanently object to the setting of cookies. Furthermore, cookies that have already been set can be deleted at any time via an Internet browser or other software programs. This is possible in all common Internet browsers. If the data subject deactivates the setting of cookies in the Internet browser used, not all functions of our website may be fully usable under certain circumstances.
